Every couple of weeks we read of another music service that’s offering “uninterrupted listening”, “ad-free music”, “offline listening”, “free, no subscription”, “curated radio”, “the latest records and singles”, “35 million tunes” and more, more, more!!!
The most recent offering is YouTube Red. Google is rolling its Play Music on-demand music into YouTube (owned by Google) for a bundled video/sound subscription service. You can find various music services out there attempting to appeals to millions of users, each offering the most, most rapid access EVER in the annals of recorded music (that’s accurate). It’s a wonderful time. However, what will happen if you’re a company owner?
Google Play Music (shortly to be YouTube Red) and other music services have one important, unpublicized drawback: they’re for person listeners, not for company use. They’ve many, well publicized gains which are captivating, interesting and simple to use making the rational decision for company owners and mangers: “I use it personally, so I’ll use at my company.”
As we’ve composed before, these consumer services, including Spotify, are not licensed for company use.
